Author: R. Conner Dixon, MD

A 72-year-old male presents to the emergency department complaining of lower back and buttock pain for the past 4 days. He slipped on a wet floor a few days ago and fell backwards landing directly on his backside. He was able to get up but has had difficulty walking due to pain and can’t sit down without significant discomfort. He denies any numbness/tingling and has full strength.
